LaViv uses you own cells to create collagen
LaViv is a unique dermal filler. After 3 small samples of tissue are taken from behind the ear, Fibrocell, grows you own fibroblasts over the next 3 months. Fibroblasts are the cells which create collagen and elastin, the two main components which lead to aging of the skin when they are deminished.
Over the course of 2 or 3 sessions, the cells are injected into the skin, almost painlessly. Collagen starts to grow within days. Repeat injections are done at 3 week intervals.
LaViv is FDA approved for use in the nasolabial folds (smile lines). However there are ongoing clinical trials for injection in acne scars and total facial rejuvenation which are very promising.
LaViv should be considered for long lasting correction of fine, superficial lines such as 'smoker's' lip lines, smile lines in the cheek, lines which remain after BOTOX in the glabella and crows feet, and fine lines in the lower eye lids. Acne scars are treated well with LaViv as well.
